My CP and Their Local Government Structure

Describe the community in which your CP operates… is it a city, a town, a rural area? What kind of mayor does the community have? Does your CP have any interaction with local government officials?

My community partner is San Bruno Mountain watch which operates out of the city of San Bruno. San Bruno is located in the San Francisco peninsula pertaining to the San Mateo county. San Bruno became a city in 1914, whose local government consist of five elected city council. Currently the San Bruno Mayor is Jim Ruane, he is on his second term as mayor and has served as a council member since 1995. San Bruno Mountain watch works closly with not only San Mateo government officials but also with those of the surrounding cities which incircle the Mountain. They must work with government officials so that they may ensure protection of the land eligible for development surrounding the Mountain.
